Aloha! I’m the gal behind the hula skirt that you can depend on to hunt down the coolest aloha-inspired goods for you and your beach shack. Though I have a full-time gig as a design writer and editor, this is my passion project that I’ve been dreaming of my whole life.
As you can tell, I have a serious obsession for Hawaii and all things aloha—from the clear blue ocean and perfect surf to the rich green hues and juicy fruits. This passion began in my early years living in L.A. where I dedicated my days to becoming the best hula dancer outside of Hawaii. I would spend the weekends with my mom sifting through thrift stores and flea markets looking for the most unexpected treasures we could find. During a chunk of time I spent living in NYC, I worked as an editor at Martha Stewart Living, Elle Decor, Country Living, House Beautiful, and Veranda, where I wrote countless stories, developed curated trend pages, produced photoshoots, and scoured the planet for the best in design and craftsmanship.
After making my way back to California and becoming a full-time writer for Dwell, I decided to put my skills and experience to good use and create a place where like-minded aloha lovers can find a dose of the good stuff.
So for all those out there that also spend their days craving sunshine, the sea, tropical plants, and mangoes for days—I feel you. From here on out, I’ll be sharing vintage trinkets, accessories, jewelry, treasures, and home goods that all reflect this aloha spirit and are handpicked by moi.
Dive into my Instagram and blog to see where my inspiration comes from. And make sure to check back on our homepage every now and then since I’ll be adding new vintage treasures as soon as I can get my hands on them.
