This wartime collectible pillow features a vivid, unique colorway that we have not seen before, and it’s completed with classic, nautical-style gold fringe. The illustration includes a beautiful man and woman relaxing on the beach under towering palm trees, and two more men preparing to take out their outrigger canoe. The center reads a beautiful poem titled “To Sister.”
*These collectible pillow covers were produced as Hawaiian souvenirs for American soldiers and sailors serving in Hawaii in the 1940s and 1950s (pre-statehood). We’ve hunted down the best, most beautiful ones we can find and paired them with brand new (unused) pillow inserts. The top edge of each pillowcase is left open for easy stuffing.
Condition: Great vintage condition. The back has some age spots throughout. The front has a few tiny pen dots along the top left-hand corner. No rips or holes and the color has held up beautifully. See photos.
Size: 16” L x 16” W (plus 2” fringe) x 5” D
