After first seeing a hula lady bust like this one at the Surfjack Hotel in Waikiki, I became obsessed and realized that it was a popular Hawaiian collectible in the 1960s and 1970s. And I finally found the perfect one to share with you. She’s quite large and features painted ceramic with a beautiful red hibiscus in her hair. The detail is exquisite. The bottom of the handmade bust is signed “Tess.”
Condition: Everything is in perfect condition except for a couple tiny spots at the base where the paint is rubbing off. One of the marks is at the bottom of the hair at the back of the sculpture.
