I’ve seen lots of round metal trays dedicated to U.S. states, but this particular Hawaiian one is incredibly special. Originating from the late-1960s or early-1970s, the lightweight tin tray features all the beautiful things there is to love about Hawaii. Along with a sweet poem about the meaning of aloha, it boasts a bright and colorful illustration that includes a hula girl, big wave surfers, pineapples, leis, tropical flowers, fish, and of course the beautiful landscape. The bottom right-hand corner has Ken Haag’s signature. Use it to serve drinks or snacks—or as a catchall for your jewelry and perfume bottles.
Condition: The gold border has a tiny chip on the lower left-hand edge. The underside has some slight speckling off of the gold, but the colorful illustrated surface of the tray is shockingly vibrant and intact.
