One of my fave midcentury pillows I’ve ever found! This gorgeous silky pillowcase from the 1940s features an “Aloha Hawaii” banner framed by two luscious, bright pink and green hibiscus blooms. Below it is a “Mother Mine” poem that sits in the middle of numerous beautiful illustrations, including Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, a Hawaiian dancer, a pretty Hawaiian women making a lei, Moanalua Palms, Kilauea volcano, pineapples, The Pali, Isle O’Dreams, and David Kaapuawaokamehameha. It’s stuffed with a brand new 17” pillow insert filled with polyester fibers.
*These collectible pillow covers were produced as Hawaiian souvenirs for American soldiers serving in Hawaii in the 1940s and 1950s (pre-statehood). We’ve hunted down the best, most beautiful ones we can find and paired them with brand new (unused) pillow inserts. The bottom edge of each pillowcase is left open for easy stuffing.
Condition: Great condition for its age! Some very slight yellow-ing along the bottom left-hand corner (front and back). See photos.
